What is Andersen Acres?
Andersen Acres is a Natural Horsemanship boarding facility located near Keenesburg, CO or about 30 miles northeast of Denver.Starting out as a hobby of training horses in 2000, Travis and Andrea Andersen decided to devote more time to educating, schooling, and training horses and people together. In January of 2003 the Andersen's moved to 80 acres of land and built the facility from the ground up to give horse devoted people a place to keep their horse and learn how to train in natural horsemanship methods.
Safety is a main concern for the horses so most all fencing in and around the property is 6 foot high and either consists of electrified braided rope or round pipe to mitigate the chance of a horse being cut that traditional wire fencing is prone to.
The barn is steel with wooden kick panels. Each stall consists of 6 foot high round tube panels to allow the horses to see and hear each other. The horses are also allowed to come and go in the barn as they please and mingle so that they can continue to learn from each other in a natural herd hierarchy even when we are not around.
The
indoor arena is made from Cover-All ®.
One of the best benefits out of this type of indoor arena is that it is bright, airy, and
resilient. It is the first Cover-All ® indoor
arena in Weld county Colorado.
Travis and Andrea improved their horsemanship skills by observation and interacting with horses. They studied techniques used by other natural horsemen and women and incorporated what they believe are the best traits of all into what they termed "Human & Equine Learning Principles" or H.E.L.P.
Though Travis and Andrea no longer train and give formal lessons, they will give you knowldegable recemondations that will help you improve your relationship and skills are a horse person.
In addition to horses they have a menagerie of dogs, cats, birds, and fish.
